My delhi visit got cancelled this week and hence I decided to go to Chennai, as weekend will be terribly boring in Bangalore. At work my project has started to kick off and I am loaded with too many responsibilities at this point. I know I have to do well and make this project a grand success, that will give me a very good face lift in this organization.
I am still trying hard to get G into my company but things are not moving in the pace I expected it to move. I am still hopeful that something concrete would happen by end of next week. G too is expecting couple of offers from various companies. He too keeping his fingers crossed. I will have to talk to my director to speed up the things.
I know I cant take my vacation this September as the project will be in full swing, so I think I can take it during October. I have to concentrate on some of the major tuning parameters on the OS so that I can preset in my environment. I know I have a very challenging 45 days staring in front of me. By GOD’s grace, I hope I will do well.
Booked an iPhone today with Airtel and I hope they bring in the 3G network pretty soon, and hence I can use the full features of iPhone. Nothing much, life is going on in a tight loop.

World is round and so is my life. I came back to my nut shell in bangalore after dropping my granny and aunt at chennai. Its going to be tough for at least a week for me to get back to the old routine of cooking, cleaning washing etc etc. Lucky my culinary skills are still intact.
I have decided to start to work at 9:30 from now on, instead of the usual 8:45. I have to cook in the morning so that I can have my dinner when I come back from work, cooking dinner after coming from work is next to impossible. I will be dead tired to do anything at that time.
My weekend was pretty hectic at chennai. I have to help paati and aunt to set things right at the house, as it was in a mess after my dad ruled it for almost 4 months all alone. I then have to do some shopping within mylapore, I could not talk to many of my friends this time and hence this visit would go unnoticed.
Hoping to keep myself busy for the next weekend, as a very boring one is ready to hit me … :)

Its been a long gap of 4 months since I visited chennai. My granny and my aunt were with me to kill Chennai’s summer. As my dad is all alone for a long time and he is finding it difficult to manage on his own, I have decided to leave them at chennai, they too need a change of place. I will be going to chennai on the 1st of August and will be back to Bangalore on the 4th morning.
My paati actually wants to play a dual role and she wants to stay in chennai as well as bangalore, since that is not possible, she is saying that she gets worried about me when she goes to chennai, she has vowed that she will be finding a girl for me very soon, but I am not so optimistic about that.
So from now on I will be shuttling between chennai and banaglore every fortnight. Its a much needed break for me too, as I have been working without a break for almost a year now, so I need to break. I am also planing to take a vacation during the month of September and will go to a small pilgrimage tour with my dad.
As usually things are going hectic at work and its expected to get worser in the days to come. God only have to save me …

Ah, one more uneventful birthday down the drain :(. I got wishes from Maddy, Barani, Ganesh, Raj, Siva, Malini, Murali, Chandri, and also from my team members. Lavs and Radhika missed wishing me so I called them up and got my wish ;-))). My entire family wished me this time, surprisingly!!! Evening chandri’s son Akshat wished me and that was the best wish I got for the day, his cute little pronounciation of my “Happy Birthday” was great to hear.
Apart from that I was dead stuck with a UDB DB2 issue where the DB server got crashed after we tried to do 2 million inserts concurrently. It took a long time to figure out the cause, and atlast found a log file which gave me some clue and as usually “google” bagwan was there to help me out with a probable workaround to get over that issue. I dont know whether its a fool proof one, I have to go and check it up tomorrow.
I got some positive information from my boss regarding the CV of Ganesh, I think he will be giving a go ahead to that opening by this week and Ganesh would be called in for an interview pretty soon …
Thats it, end of the day, and one more hectic day awaits me at work.

I would say that there will be an end for these boring weekends from now on, as I will be frequently travelling to my hometown. I am dropping my granny and aunt who were staying with me for 4 months. I will then have to travel every weekend to kill time.
This weekend was equally boring, but I somehow invented ways to get over it and one such idea is to redesign my bolg, so I did that over the weekend and it has come good.
Tomorrow will be a new start in my life as I turn 32 :), hope GOD will always be there with me to bless me as the way he has blessed me till date. I am so thankful for him to have given me such wonderful and affectionate friends, who are my real treasure.
I would try to regulary update here, but the problem is I too write my personal diary everyday and I dunno what I will have to write here. Anyways keep watching …

Today has been a very eventful day at work. I worked on expanding the UDB DB3 database with those SQL scripts we have prepared, when came the discussion of truncating the tables before insterting, i thot of dropping the indexes as well … and to my shock i noticed that these buggars have 3 to 4 indexes on the same column in the same table, GOD only knows why ?
The next surprise was this … would you ever believe that a RDBMS on this earth does not have a TRUNCATE TABLE command ???? what the F*** is this DB i dont understand. I then have to delete the table (deleting the rows) and for you to delete 25 lakhs of rows, UDB DB2 takes …. dunno, its still running. I will tell you tomm.
I think i am up for a big challenge in this company, being a Performance Architect here is no JOKE is what the message i got today. I must be ready to burn my A** on the pan for the next 3 months atleast, though we can claim that its a 1.0 version, but still this kind of pathetic performance is not at all acceptable.
Looks like my vacation plan for the 1st week of september wud go for a spin, as the project deadlines are overlapping my vacation dates, lets see.

I gotta know about tumblr from Ganesh and this looks really cool. I would now start posting my tasks for the day here and also continue to give frequent updates in twitter.
